New York is a city of dreams, of infinite possibilities with the power to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. New York is a home from home for me as I have the best of friends and the best of times in the city. It is a city that never fails to inspire. The devastation that Sandy brought to New York and the East Coast came with a terrible cost to lives and livelihoods and I commend all the people who rallied and are still rallying to the support of those less fortunate than themselves. New Yorkers are tough and New Yorkers set an inspiring example of resilience and defiance against adversity for the rest of us.
